Hi Shiju,
Thanks for your respinse. I had conveyed in past on the request discussion that many of
these 2000 messages are technical terms, and we won't like to have them simply
transliterated. At the same point, there is no use of translating them with some allien
terms which noone would und3rstand.
There are some unavoidable technical words. And community can decide
whether a suitable word from language to be used or to be
transliterated. If anybody feel that the UI of an extension is using
too many technical words or jargons that users cannot understand it is
a bug to the extension an should be reported in bugzilla. That will
help other languages too.
Community was once very active on wikisource, but
because of this stringent requirement, as when the project couldn't move ahead with
sub-domain creation, they lost interest.
If there are not enough people from community to participate, that is
an outreach problem. I think WMF India has good role to resolve this
issue by working with Gujarati community
mr.wikisource.org is approved last week by satisfying the
requirements. Gujarati is not an inactive community or incapable of
doing this :)
If we can conduct translation sprint along with Wiki outreach
programs, where there are potential contributors, this is not a hard
to achieve goal.
Isn't there anyway where we can get waiver of this
requirement to have all those messages translated? You can see that most frequently used
messages are translated anyways.
Wikimedia Foundation language committee discussed this and not ready
to give exemption for Gujarati from Localization requirement.
The localization requirement is a policy by langcom and approved by
Board, and it is for a purpose. Please see it as a community building
opportunity
As Gujarati community is active on wikipedia, it
won't be much hard to get wikisource going either.

continue adding more source texts on that site since that will keep the interested members
together. Along with that please translate the mediawiki messages in Translate wiki. I
found that for Gujarati we have around 2000 untranslated messages. Keep have some plan to
finish these messages within some time frame since that will speed up the creation of
Gujarati wikisource.
+1.
There are 1,524 messages to be translated in Wikimedia
