These are great news! Would it be possible to have the documentary without subtitles in the video, but as a TimedText file? Embedding subtitles directly in the video makes it impossible to resubtitle, and should be avoided.

You can just upload the TimedText files to Wikimedia Commons, so other people can translate it to any language. That should be the best practice for every video.
