Here's pitching an idea that I think would have to work..
It's Wikicooks (or something like that). In other words, a repository of recipes in the wiki-way, ie. collated from all around the world and available in a multitude of languages. As far as I know, there's no really good repository of recipes online - I was looking the other day, and found some okay resources but nothing that we couldn't do better ourselves. And of course, it'd be free and open-content..
So, opinions? My only other question then is where this should be created/hosted - in Wikibooks, Wikicities or a new wiki of its own?
Cheers,
Cormac
PS - I had this idea ages ago and before I heard about the Danish Open source beer - but wouldn't we be able to take up that idea? Wikipedia's tasty range of pasta sauces? Or is that just cheesy?
Careful, ô dear sociologist. Recipes ... and where they should be, is a slipery issue :-)

I've also wanted something like this for a long time, but you must keep something in mind, we must keep a very very very close eye on vandalism because it would not be good if somebody knew chemistry and added an extra ingredient that makes the recipe poisonous. Just my .02 otherwise I hope it works out

Is there a combination of ingredients that, when mixed, become poisonous? I appreciate your point, though I'm a little sceptical..

If you ate enough apple seeds, the synide but add up enough to make you feel a bit off. But you'd have to eat A LOT.

Right, so here's my recipe for "Mamma mia - Wikipedia's *special* pomodoro sauce":
6 Tomatoes (preferably plum) 1 large Spanish Onion (diced) 3 cloves of garlic Handful of basil leaves (roughly chopped) Olive oil (preferably extra virgin) The seeds of 200 apples Salt Pepper etc.
Anyone smell something fishy? :)
