after a very tight vote within the jury, Boston has been chosen to host Wikimania 2006, the second International Wikimedia Conference.

We wish to thank all participants for the work they have put into their bids, and especially the supporters of Toronto whose city made it to the shortlist. Results of the vote were 5 for Boston to 4 for Toronto, and one abstention.
