Hi all,
As most of you are aware, the Movement Charter Drafting Committee (MCDC) is currently collecting community feedback about three draft sections of the Movement Charter: Preamble https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Movement_Charter/Content/Preamble, Values & Principles https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Movement_Charter/Content/Values_%26_Principles, and Roles & Responsibilities https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Movement_Charter/Content/Roles_%26_Responsibilities (statement of intent).
How can you participate and share your feedback?
The MCDC is looking forward to receiving all types of feedback in different languages from the community members across the Movement and Affiliates. You can participate in the following ways:
-
Attend the online community conversation hours with MCDC members. Details about, and a list of all planned regional community conversation hours are published here https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Movement_Charter/Community_Consultation#Community_consultation. First one is this Sunday, November 20: this one is considered timezone friendly for Northern/Western Europe and has German and French language interpretation.
You can also choose to:

Hi everyone,
Wikimedia Deutschland has reviewed the initial content the Movement Charter Drafting Committee has produced and we published our feedback and some suggestions on Meta:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Deutschland/Movement_Charter_Draft... (available in English and German)
We appreciate that the MCDC is beginning to share content. The process has been slow, yet we think time and patience are necessary. The committee has a lot of reading and researching to do. And time is needed to give everyone a chance to catch up, engage in deliberation, and contribute to the charter. The questions need to come from the MCDC and the answers from the movement, not the other way round.
We are looking forward to a participatory, iterative process with continuous conversation, community consultations, and thorough research leading to a charter that will finally bring about the changes to keep our movement thriving, open, and relevant.
Kind regards, Nicole
