Sorry to be late to the party, but I'm wondering if Erik (or Sue) were aware of this (very long and drawn out) discussion on Wikiversity:

That would be my only concern about holding advisory positions in other related projects, since it can (at least potentially) create conflicts of interest between promoting or otherwise bolstering foundation projects vs. non-foundation projects.
