Hello, Would you like to tell us about your Wikipedia? I am afraid that many know only about the Wikipedia he edits himself. At Meta-Wiki you can answer to questions about your Wikipedia language edition and read about others: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tell_us_about_your_Wikipedia

Neat. I've been looking for a thing like this.

Thanks, me too, and I had to do it myself. :-) What is your interest in Multilingual Wikipedia affairs, are you a linguist or a small WP editor? Greetings Ziko

I agree this is neat. Also, can we have some wiki-group where people from one community who have a nice practice (welcoming, making portal pages, celebrating holidays with art) visit young new communities and teach them how to do it?
(sort of like groups that teach new residents of a town to speak the local language)

Yeah, good idea. Ting
In fact, I am amazed with how little help pages and community building elements the small Wikipedias have come so far. But they remain small communities, and I suppose this has to do with a lack of these elements. Without, it is difficult for new people to join and actually fit in and stay. Therefore "Multilingual Wikipedia" at Meta includes also a manual: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Manual_for_small_and_new_Wikipedias Ideas and corrections are welcome. :-)
Because people like GerardM from Betawiki and others have to migrate from village pump to village pump to inform about useful thing for all Wikipedias, I have set up http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/All_Wikipedia_Pin_Board but for so long I am the only who ever posted... Maybe it will work, maybe not. Without doubt, it would at least save a lot of work to GerardM. :-)

There has been a longstanding request for some technical measure that provides for a /real/ all-language pinboard that is automatically posted to all small wikis, or to all wikis that opt in, or to all wikis with an option to opt out. A way to share messages that are assumed to be multilingual, which are displayed in the local lang if translated, or the nearest larger parent lang... with a link to a meta page where announcements are suggested (perhaps the Pin Board itself).
Is anyone thinking about how this might be implemented?

I'm generally interested in making the Wikipedias more interconnected, linguistically, and maintaining a global community spirit. I think it's vital to Wikipedia's mission, in fact. I create a lot of articles, mostly related to ancient Greece and Rome, and always try to make sure I include interwiki links to the article in other-language Wikipedias. The Catalan Wiki, in particular, has a pretty spectacular breadth of classics-related articles. It's made me want to learn the language.

It would be great, Samuel, if such a general pin board for all Wikipedias would come to life. For the "Tell us" project I went to quite a number of village pumps, but sometimes it is difficult to post (if you don't speak the language). At Esperanto Wikipedia we now discuss how to make our village pump / Embassy easier to find.
Someone from Simple English Wikipedia noted that it could be a starting point for small Wikipedias, as translating from it is easier tran translating form English Wikipedia.
At http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Ziko/Basic_Wikipedia_and_help_pages I started to write some Wikipedia and Help pages for new and small Wikipedias, because simply translating those from English Wikipedia are often rather complicated and a huge amount of text. And sometimes they are not suitable for every language edition.
