Once people have started using a word in a certain way you can't start pretending that they haven't. ---- We got people to stop citing WP:VAIN because it was impolite. This is far more serious.

I suppose that the way that people use language is more serious than citing a redirect page. Merging two redirect pages is hardly a big deal, and I'm not about to waste a lot of time trying to figure out what that was all about.
My point is that once a word is coined it's a part of the language. If Pandora couldn't stuff her problems back into the box how can we?
