Comments:
* Russia-community is well-informed
* Bashkir editors (especially their grannies) are very active in all Tatar language
projects & also create positive Russian Federal-level PR for Wikipedia
* Impatiently waiting to see the 34th Wikipedia in the languages of Russia to get approved
for leaving the Incubator
https://w.wiki/uDY
* Bashkir community is successfully showcasing Tatarstan projects in their social networks
and to own local stakeholders to incite them to start funding their language version
development - they just received news that their grant request was approved by
Bashkortostan as part of indigenous languages preservation & development program
https://www.bashinform.ru/news/1545734-nazvany-imena-obladateley-grantov-gl…
* Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Wikimedians of Sakha language are not far behind Tatarstan
& Bashkortostan colleagues in engaging public authorities & wider local
stakeholders into supporting Wiki-Multilingualism (December has seen Wikimedia Russia
delegation meeting with their ICT & Digital Development Ministry, GLAMs,
press-conference in the regional news agency
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvMHLSsi4SI
& even a weekly news TV program episode
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p1S_Jgxw9s&feature=youtu.be&t=5m01s
* Looking for ways how all this can be institutionalized, happy to see yesterday's
Movement Communications focus group colleagues understand such personal activity marathons
can't go long as an unfunded purely volunteer effort (Work/Life/Wiki balance)
regards,
farhad
