Some people have disclaimers automatically appended, if they use a
work related e-mail address. If I were to respond from work, my
disclaimer is two paragraphs long.

I've only seen these footers from board members. Do you mean the
disclaimer that runs like "This is an individual opinion, not a
statement of the Board of Trustees" etc. etc. ?
I don't see many reasons why non-board resp. non-staff users *need* to
have a footer on this list.
