Well, first of all, it's best to *not* use digest. You use gmail, so
all of the e-mails would be threaded together automatically if you
turned digest off.
If you won't turn off digest mode, you should probably copy the
"Subject" for the message you're replying to and put that as the
subject for the new e-mail you create.

Even that solution sometimes creates new threads, for reasons unbeknownst to me. Turning
off Digest mode is the best solution. Digest is intended for people who only intend on
reading and replying infrequently; Adam is not that person. With the frequencies of his
replies he'd be better suited for individual emails mode.
