Hey all,
Sorry for responding only now, crazy days here, but I got many emails about
the grant we got. So yes, this is a global grant program, you can check
here if your country is eligible for such a grant and apply for it:
Regarding the uses of the grant - we are planning to direct users who
searching for example "how to write article Wikipedia", "editing rules on
Wikipedia" and others relevant search queries to a page with editing
workshops calender on our website. Others Adwords campaigns will help us to
invite people to participates on others projects like WLM, Wikipedia
Academy and others. We will also try pilot campaign for inviting people to
donate, but this is not the main focus of this grant.
We will try to update on the next few months how it's worked for us. I'll
be happy if WMDE and WMF will share their insight as well.

Andrew: WMUK can use them if we want, as can most UK
charities, but we
haven't put together a plan for doing so. I'd be interested to see how
WMIL's scheme goes!

Interesting! WM-DE and WMF have both had adword
grants - looking at
the mailing list archives, they seemed to use them for directing
people to fundraising. Any other chapters used these?
