The GFDL cares not.
Keep in mind that we do allow users to be renamed
already if they
request it. This doesn't cause any GFDL-related issues, because the
account--by whatever name--still has the same owner. Forcing a rename
is exactly the same as far as the GFDL is concerned, except somebody
besides the owner requests the rename.
Nope. When someone requests a rename they are effectively re-releasing
all their edits under a second name. They are free to do this (they
just can't stop people crediting those edits under the old name).
If we do not allow forced renames because of the GFDL
requirement of
author section invariance, then we should likewise not allow any other
rename actions either.
