Google accidentally blocks Bisexual from Instant Search and Autocomplete.

"As you say, we're strong LGBT supporters. Sometimes perfectly good search terms can trip up our algorithms that decide whether to show instant
results. This can happen when our automatic filters detect a strong correlation on the (unfiltered) Internet between those terms and pornography.
The effect varies from term to term, and keep in mind we handle billions of queries each day, 16% of which are new to us each day, across 146
languages. But we appreciate your feedback -- it's this kind of case that motivates us to keep working on our algorithms so we can get people the
information they need as quickly as possible.- Google Spokesperson, July 2nd 2012"
sincerely,
Kim Bruning

Subject: Office hours with Sue Gardner tomorrow
To: Wikimedia Mailing List <wikimedia-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>
Hi everyone,
We realize this is short notice, but Sue Gardner (the Foundation's
Executive Director) is doing an IRC office hours tomorrow, Saturday
August 18, at 17:30:00 UTC.
It's been some time since Sue did one, so we're leaving the topic
pretty open. As usual, the particulars are on Meta at:

Subject: new wiki Education newsletter
One of the things discussed during Wikimania was the need for a
newsletter that will allow us already working with Wikipedia a chance
to share ideas easily. Today is the official "publication" of the This
Month in Education wiki-newsletter.
http://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/Education_Portal/Newsletter
This is only only easy to find, but easy to contribute to with the
"Newsroom" link.
Final versions are announced each month (published) and email
reminders will be sent on this list and to anyone who requests it.
Please enjoy reading what is happening in various parts of the world
and we happily accept contributions for the 15 September newsletter!

"Project lead Hugo Roy tells me that he considers Wikipedia to be an
exemplary service, though it hasn’t been rated by TOS;DR. He says both
Wikipedia’s short, clear summary of its TOS and its practice of
soliciting feedback from users before a change in terms should be
widely adopted as best practices for the web."
One of the moments which make me shine happy for being the part of
Wikimedia community. I were not involved in the process myself, but
want to thank everyone who were.
