Hi all,
If you have applied for Rapid Grants [1] or you are considering to apply for one to support your Wiki Loves Monuments 2017 campaign, please read on. Everyone else, you can safely stop here.
At least two countries are affected by the delays in processing Rapid Grants: Ghana [2] and Greece [3]. We want you to know a few things: * The international team is heavily discouraged to apply for grants for emergency cases like this, with the reasoning that WMF can process Rapid Grants in a week. * We are going to contact WMF regarding these two country's requests to ask for immediate attention to these cases. * If you have applied for Rapid Grants for your Wiki Loves Monuments campaig or you are planning to do so, we need to hear from you. Please email on or off-list with the name of your country so we can include that information in our communications. * Everyone has the best intentions to help each other. The resources are limited, and things get dropped (not trying to justify here but to say that we should all have empathy for each other in cases like this:).
This is a very unfortunate situation for the organizers and our global efforts for Wiki Loves Monuments 2017. This being said, I'd like to ask everyone to exercise patience, lend a hand to each other where you can, and allow the international team to escalate and hopefully resolve this issue in a timely manner.
Best, Lily

Update time:
We have some good news. :)
Rapid Grants for Wiki Loves Monuments that are already in the system (Greece, Ghana, Egypt, Nepal, Uganda, US) are either processed or will be processed by the end of day tomorrow. Any new grant requests submitted may still get delayed, so please let us know by Sunday 2017-09-03 if you are planning to apply for Rapid Grants for your Wiki Loves Monuments campaign so we can give a heads up to the corresponding team in WMF.
Big thanks to Alex Wang and the Community Resources team at WMF for getting back to us quickly and helping us move forward.
Best, Lily
