Hi,
This year, Tunisia will take part of the Wiki Loves Monuments contesthttp://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2013_in_Tunisia. It will be organized by Wikipedia User Group in Tunisiahttp://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Planning_Wikimedia_Tunisia(formalization is in process!), CLibre (local association) and the Photo Club of Tunis.
We are very interested by the competition and hope that it leads to success!
Regards!
Note: wikilovesmonuments.tn is our local website.
Hello Habib,
that's an awesome news to hear from you. The volunteer strength is also good, and I also hope that it leads to a greater success. Nice to have you on board :)
Category:Cultural heritage monuments in Tunisiahttp://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Cultural_heritage_monuments_in_Tunisia does lists about 57 monuments, thus wanted to ask if is that the number of monuments in Tunisia? A small country like the Netherlands has 1000s of monuments. I did some third eye Google search and couldn't find the list of Government protected monuments list. Probably you can have a better search on that, may be online or offline.
Again, happy to see you participating. You can certainly ping this mailing list every time you need a help! Certain issues might be same for every country, and they can learn by your experience and vice versa.
Regards, Karthik.

Sounds very interesting, congrats.
Here is a 1,000 monuments list http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_des_monuments_class%C3%A9s_de_Tunisie
If you collect coordinates until September, I can launch a map like this for Tunisia http://toolserver.org/~emijrp/wlm/andorra/

The license of the database has changed to ODBL but the rendered maps are still available under cc by sa.
