Hi all
For the very first time, the UK will be competing in the annual Wiki Loves Monuments competition in September. For the UK, this will be a community-led effort, with support from WMUK. A number of volunteers have already expressed interest in helping to organize the contest, but there is much to be done and many more volunteers are needed, both now and over the coming few months.
If you would like to contribute towards making our first ever competition the great success we expect it to be, please visit

and leave your name there. Even if you are only able to offer us moral support, or want to take part as photographer in September, please leave your details anyway. You need not be based in the UK to help.

Very happy to hear this. I started working on the listed buildings some time ago, see https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Multichill/Monuments_notes#United_Ki... I did Scotland (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_listed_buildings_in_Scotland), but stopped working on it when it became clear the UK wouldn't be participating (last year). You probably want to pick up where I left off. Also Scotland needs attention, if you take a look at http://toolserver.org/~erfgoed/api/api.php?action=statistics&stcountry=s... you'll see that only 6 images have been added. That needs some work.....
