Hi again, as a follow-up to my previous message requesting translations, I'd like to ask you for some ideas for other slogans we might run on CentralNotice during the competition.
The idea I had for now was to start with last year's slogan, and introduce another one as soon as we break our previous record of 168,000 files uploaded in all participating countries (probably somewhere around September 13-15). This doesn't have to be related to us breaking the record, and is merely intended as a "fresh opening" to boost the number of contributors/interested people (just like different fundraising campaigns boost the view/click ratio).
So if you have some ideas for a good CentralNotice slogan which will be translated into over 30 languages and visible to millions of people (and I guess we can prepare a nice thank-you note as well) -- please speak now! :-))
Thanks
Hi,
slogan no 1. Monuments defines how heritage your nation is, prove by clicking images of monuments around you.
slogan no 2. World may end in December 2012{{cn}}, beware, click photos of monuments around and try to build the same in another planet. :D (just in case you need funnier one, if it is????)
will add many more tomorrow after sitting in a boring examination hall.
Thanks :)

We can't add such statements at the Central Notice. The people believing that Wikipedia indeed said the world would end in December would be too much. I like the basis, though. Maybe we could make it in conditional, or rephrase it. It would have also been pretty to add an image of an UFO dragging a monument... :)

Good luck. And if you are bored there, it's a good oportunity to make up slogans :)
Hi,
slogen No. n+1: "Be part of the new Guiness record!" or something like this?

Hi Samat, this might be quite a good idea, and I am sure that the Guiness World Book of Records would be extremely happy with having their name visible to hundreds of milions of Wikipedia visitors...
... but for obvious reasons we are not going to do that ;-))
(Although the record-breaking slogan - with the phrase "world record" instead of "Guiness record" might be worth trying.)

Hi Tomasz,
We could use that slogen without word "Guiness": "Be part of the new record!" or "Be part of a new record!"

If the idea is that we will get 2x the amount of pictures from last year then that half way mark will be some days later. Last year 25% or something of the pictures was uploaded in the last day. I guess the half way mark is more around the 20th. But maybe a banner stating: "Help us beat the record from last year, 30.000 pictures to go" is possible. Another idea could be to use some banner texts to try to improve the image quality. I've no ideas for texts for that yet. But if thats possible it would be awesome. Mvg, Bas

I like that. Also, if I understand correctly, there is also a record for numenr of images uploaded in a single day (should be roughly 40 000, if the percentage given above is right), maybe we should prepare a slogan for that, too.
