Hi all,
A little proposal (probably for the next year, no need to rush ;-) ) I'm beta testing the WLM app on my smartphone and I noticed that the app contains a link to http:/www.wikilovesmonuments.org, visiting that site from the phone I noticed it's quite uncomfortable to browse since the width of the size is fixed. This issue applies to all WLM national sites which are using the WLM theme.
For the next year, you may want to do one of the following: * change the theme using a responsive layout[*][**] that adapts itself to the device screen dimensions * redirect users from mobile device to the "mobile version" of the site, probably something like http:/m.wikilovesmonuments.org (deprecated)
(I know the theme code is pubblicly available, but I don't have any time to do it myself now [furthermore, I'm not that CSS master ...])

Hi Cristian, i agree, i've created the theme two years ago or something. If i would have done it today i would have definitely taken mobile devices into account and made the design responsive.

Sorry Hay, this current theme is based on the latest TwentyEleven theme Wordpress provides by default - and it actually has some device dependand behaviour included. I just tested it on my Andoid htc desire, and it's a plain beautiful mobile version ;-), no header image, just plain content and small images, no sidebar. Maybe it does not work on all display sizes, but it was not ignored...

Strange behaviour...

Hi Christian, thanks for letting us know about that; looks like everyone forgot that the theme Hay prepared for us (even himself included) is not usable for mobile devices (in any case, Hay - kudos for the work you put into this theme ;-).
As a temporary measure, I installed a mobile plugin (WPtouch) at the wikilovesmonuments.org website - if anybody feels like doing so, I'd appreciate some feedback on how the plugin works for you, if you like the design & colours (there are several possibilities to choose from), etc.
For the time being, the plugin forces mobile devices to redirect to http://wikilovesmonuments.org/contest, but we're going to set up a /mobile site which would contain all the information needed for users browsing with a mobile device or coming from the mobile application.
Thanks

For wikilovesmonuments.it we used a different theme (because we had some difficulties with the localisation, and then we decided we wanted a different layout) and we too are using a plugin rendering the mobile version.
