There was some discussion in 2011 (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons_talk:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2011#Qu...) about how best to improve the quality of entries to the competition. In an effort to help beginners in photography I have made a page (http://www.wikilovesmonuments.org.uk/?page_id=231) on the UK website showing common errors.
I wonder what people think, and whether anyone can suggest improvements? Are there specific technical errors that come up time and time again?

Last year, Wiki Loves Monuments Chile created a similar guide (in Spanish): http://www.wikilovesmonuments.cl/blog/2012/08/19/ejemplos-de-fotografias-no-... .
The main objetive was establish the minimum technical requirement and how to improve the quality photography of national monuments in Commons.

The description of the errors needs to be in a bigger/bolder font: it's quite tricky to see.

If anyone wants to do a blog post with a wink about 'five tips for beginning photographers not to win a prize' (i.e. put your face in front of the camera, photograph in the direction of the sun, etc.) I think I'd welcome that for the first week of September on wikilovesmonuments.org .
