Hi everyone,
First of all, I would like to say that I really enjoyed meeting many of you in Berlin this weekend and apologize for leaving without saying goodbye. I was expecting to meet up with you on Friday after dinner in the hostel, but that didn't happen and when I left Saturday everyone was still asleep.
With that said, I am looking forward to seeing the Europa Nostra article coming out soon. As I was browsing through their website, I came across this: http://www.europanostra.org/apply-for-an-award-2012/
I think we should really consider applying for this in category 4: *EDUCATION, TRAINING and AWARENESS-RAISING *. The deadline is October 1st, so we have until the end of the contest to write this up.
The award is 10000€ which could be used to cover our costs if needed or cover costs of next years contest.
The application form is quite extensive, but I am sure that if we make it wiki-style and use the material we have already produced, it will not be that hard.
What do you think?
Best regards, Gonçalo

They were probably happy that you didn't wake them Saturday morning to say goodbye ;-)

The Europa Nostra awards are on my lists of things to think about. We could probably get nominated by someone else to increase our chances. Thanks for bringing this up here!
Today I received the invitation to go the European Heritage Awards Ceremony, more info at http://www.europanostra.org/coming-events/129/ (please do notice that the image is from Commons AND correctly attributed). I plan to go there in "Tenue de Ville" (had to use Wikipedia to know for sure what that meant ;-), looks like a high profile event.

Hi Maarten,
As far as I could tell, entries for the awards have to be submitted by someone in close relation with the project ( http://www.europanostra.org/UPLOADS/FILS/HA2012_call_conditions.pdf). The entry form ( http://www.europanostra.org/UPLOADS/FILS/HA2012_entryform_cat%204.doc) contains space for a one page summary and four sections with a maximum of 1500 words each.
Anyway, it is something to keep in mind. I am more than happy to take the lead on this if necessary, if a few more people would join me.
Best, Gonçalo
