Hi,
http://www.wikilovesmonuments.eu/awards/
I want to start a new thread about ideas what we going to give to the winners on the international level.
From my point of view, the awards needs to be something everyone can easily
get and enjoy (and less something local like a hotel in Russia, or a flight in Portugal).
Ticket to Wikimania is a great thing for example, and I'll be happy if we can discuses others ideas for this year international awards.

I heard someone suggest 'a meet&greet with Jimmy Wales' (dinner?) etc - would that be something? ;-)
As a general remark btw, I think the principle that the first prize winner can choose first from all the available prizes, then the second etc is a good principle and helps good distribution of prizes people actually like (not everyone wants to go to Wikimania for example).
Any other suggestions?

Hello,
of course, to participants, that already are Wikipedians, an invitation to Wikimania is certainly very tempting, but newcomers might find it hard to cherish it. A personal meeting with Jimmy Wales will be easier to appreciate, as everybody knows WP and it will be impressed and flattered by meeting the founder. So meet Jimmy Wales to the TOP winner and may be this will happen at the Wikimania. For the others I would recommend photo equipment, to find a sponsorship for that purpose shouldn't be to hard, combined with a local Wikipedia workshop if needed and wanted and something else for WP veterans.
best regards
