Hi all,
Please find attached the data table of the Wiki Loves Monuments participants survey. 790 replies are included, but i have removed some of the most obvious duplicates.
I look forward to people turning this into something exciting! I would love some statistics both on country and international level, both country of participation and where they live. Also it would be nice if every local team could take a look into the specific suggestions in their country.
Best,
Lodewijk

Hi Lodewijk,
thanks for the work, I really hope it will turn into useful statistics.
Could it be that the comment column in the excel file was somehow screwed up? I believe my response is #215, and I can not make sense of the comments in the file: probably what is above and below #215 (to some extens, not the Swedish text) is part of mine response, but it still does not look like connected to me, I believe I left a longer and a more sensible comment.
I also find it cool that the oldest respondent was born in 1926 and the youngest in 1998, if I read the data correctly.
Cheers Yaroslav
Hi Yaroslav,
I'm afraid this is an isolated case. I checked the source file of the English survey - and the timestamp 40834,3196875 indeed indicates your name. However, the full comment is "Cheers". Something went wrong in the transfer of your answers to the google doc i'm afraid.

The comment was indeed Cheers, I was talking about the main obstacle. Sorry for confusion.
Cheers Yaroslav
Ah, yes. I see now - the comment was quite big and to make the file scrollable, I fixed the row size. The information is still there, but you'll have to expand the row width to read it fully. The same goes for all other really long answers.
Hope that makes things clearer,
Best,
Lodewijk

Now I looked better - my suggestions in the obstacle column seem to be there, they are just too long to be shown in the default format. Then everything is fine.

Hi, I've begun doing some charts using the gRaphael library - see it at http://toolserver.org/~jcreus/grafics.html. Do I continue? Is it useful?

I think the language is the language the user used for the form. More relevant seems the "What country do you live in" field. The graphs look cool though.

Hi Joan,
I think graphs like this are helpful, especially if they can be crossreferenced with variables (for example country). The hardest thing to tackle is problably people who participated in multiple countries.
Like Strainu suggests, the language is just which form they used. It is no statistical data but for processing purposes only.

The thing is, for things which can take multiple values at the same time (comma-separated), I count each separately. So there should be no problem in the multiple-country problem.
Ok, now changing the language title.

I'm analysing the results from people who uploaded pictures of Romanian monuments. There are some comments in German that I am able to understand using google translate, except for this acronym: WC. Does anyone know what it means (except toilet, of course)?
Thanks, Strainu
Could it be that WC is referring to Commons? The respondent prefers to work there before WP (Wikipedia)?
noorse

Very likely, it all makes sense now. Thanks noorse. I've newer heard commons called WC before. :)

Are translations of the answers needed?
