Hi all,
as you may or may not know, the bot 'erfgoedbot' (run by multichill) categorizes images to more specific heritage categories, once they have been uploaded. For this, it goes into the root of the category tree (usually "category:Cultural Heritage monuments in XYZ") which has been added at upload, and based on the templates used in your lists it will try to find more specific categories.
How you can help: * Add Commonscat templates to your lists, linking to the right category in Wikimedia Commons. * Clean up images left over in the category after the botrun (the bot runs in the European night) * Expand and maintain the category tree.
See for more information: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Monuments_database/Categorization
Your help here would be very valuable, because I've been told that if the ' leftovers' become too many, it will slow down erfgoedbot (100+ it already has an impact) and that is of course something nobody wants! Also, the leftovers are usually either a mistake in the structure (something you'd like to correct), or a mistake by the uploader, making a typo in the identifier or just making it up. Keeping those numbers low, should help you maximizing the number of valid submissions in your country!
Thank you for your help!
Lodewijk

Thank you, Lodewijk. I have passed this message on to my Thai team.
Two questions:
1. I have seen a number of submissions without IDs. Will there be a bot to notify the participants automatically - asking them to correct their submission? When should we notify them? (asap or every week or just once at the end of the submission period?)
2. Not only ID are not provided, some of these are off list and will not be eligible. The photo is valuable to common though... Here is one example: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%E0%B8%AA%E0%B8%B0%E0%B8%9E%E0%B8%B2...
There are things that need to be changed: th ==> definitely removed... It is not on the list. ==> Probably okay to stay? ==> I am not sure about this one... I think it can stay for historical purpose?

Hello Taweetham, Most of the answers below are advises, there are no strict rules on this I believe from the international contest. What you describe is in some countries a pretty common issue (with up to 50% without ID's) in other countries it's very minor (with below 1%). 1. Please inform them asap, new users tend to not stay at Wikipedia that long (if you wait a day they might never look back to their account). Also give them some more information (like where to find the lists). You could also decide to correct the ID yourself (I'd advise that because it just means more value of the information and more images in your lists). There will be no bot informing users of this. 2. If they are not eligible just remove them like you've described below so remove th[[Category:Cultural heritage monuments
in Thailand]] and add something new (Butterflies for example)

just to be 100% clear: these cases you describe will not be handled by bot. The bot will only handle cases where a correct identifier is given, and matched to the database. This is something you will have to do semi-manually.

Note that the uploads page will show in red the monuments for which there's no such id in the db. For instance at http://toolserver.org/~platonides/wlm2013/uploads.php?country=th
there's only one "bad" id: http://toolserver.org/~platonides/wlm2013/uploads.php?country=th&type=ba...
The backing db is up to date now, so the issues some people detected should be gone. The only known issue so far are the 5800 non-participating images by Tilman2007 (waiting for his reply). Remember that in order to participate files must have countrycode (with countrycode being a valid one, of course)
