Hi,
As october 1 is approaching, we need to thing of the technical actions to close it. I can think of:
- Keep the campaigns open (can just be handy to upload monument pictures), but remove the wikilovesmonuments category. - Putting the flickr groups back to no posting allowed
Anything more that will be needed early october 1?
Regards,
Andre

You mean remove it from the upload wizzard?

I hope it'll be able for people to find it with the same link. But just the "{{wiki loves monumentens|xx}}"-templates shouldn't be in there anymore. For the rest the uploads based on only filling in should still be able, because this makes it much more easy for new users/participants to keep uploading in the same easy way. Mvg, Bas

In that case it would be advisable to also change the header template to something clearly stating that the images are no longer participating, and the thankyou template should also be changed.

Yes, I mean not to have the upload wizard place it anymore.

So, is everyone OK with that approach (especially the commons admins)? I would certainly like to see the upload wizard still active, just without the {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2011}} template.

Fine for us Frenchies. We also plan to leave the custom UW, without all the WLM stuff (header, template added) - even if the contest is over, people might want to continue uploading cultural heritage buildings. Of course, we will clearly state on our WLM website that the contest is over.
Another highlight:
to get 150.000 pictures, it needs 1.600 mails in this mailinglist (until today)
:-)

It might be worth having a "Competition is now closed, thanks for participating, you can go on using this UW anyway"-banner for a few weeks or so afterwards on all of the UWs of closed competitions. if we pick a spot we can get the translation of this message done before it goes live.

What about actually posting a small survey tomorrow that we advertise by banner? That serves two purposes, namely to get some feedback while the experience is still fresh, and also to broadcast that the competition is over.
I am thinking of asking a couple of questions each on the uploader, the id-lookup experience, and the "wiki takes x" experiences. We could start the questionaire with a short summary from the initial press release, and finish it with a "thanks for participating, hope to see you next year!"

I prefer to prepare this properly, and focus now on things that *need* to happen - if people are bored, they are very welcome to help with writing the European Heritage Awards application, which required still a LOT of work! Deadline tomorrow.

Please do not forget - wherever is relevant - that Portugal is probably the only country with time offset -1 :)
Lucky for you, the person who set the banners lives in Portugal, so I'm confident she took that into account ;)
