Hi,
Is anyone running a customized bot to upload images from flickr groups to commons that can introduce all the necessary info in the page? Looks like Flickrripper [1] is suitable for the job.
Thanks, Strainu

I have a modified version of that bot. Let's see if I can adapt it a bit to get images from the different Flickr pools. What pools do we have? Can someone make an overview at Commons?

Is the information on the page below enough for you? If not, what else do you need?

2 more notes/questions:
- should we have duplicate detection enabled? Some people seem to submit the same photos to both WP and flickr. So far I've rejected the duplicates, but some might escape at some point - if the bot can't find the ID, the upload should go ahead and the file should be put in some special category

I've started working on the bot - so far it adds the categories, but no templates. The question is - should we use it during the contest or only after it is finished?

Maarten,
I've completed the bot and I've made a few test runs to obtain the bot status.Getting the image from flickr and adding the relevant categories and templates worked OK, however I have an upload problem.
The upload times out several times before it uploads the picture to commons, and even after the upload is made - the picture is published, I can see it is complete - it still reports "timed out" and retries. I have to manually stop it and restart the whole process.
Do you have any Idea why could this happen? I've stopped all firewalls on that computer, manual upload works perfectly....
Thanks, Strainu
