I think maybe someone was working on this for WLM? Don't remember for sure.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a iPhone app that makes uploading images to the commons easy. I ran across mention of WikiSnaps but couldn't really figure out what it's current state was. Is this a need that other's have had, and found tools for?

We will have a brand new Android App for finding (GPS) and uploading images on Commons especially designed by the Wikimedia Foundation team for WLM – I'll get a showcase on Thursday, and the whole process developed very promising. There is a very slight chance that they can do it for iPhone too, but nothing promised.
Additionally, a German sponsor will create a mobile add-on in their POI and upload app which will batch upload images on Commons every night - a bit different approach, geocoding for non-geocoded addresses and for Android and iPhone OS. A bit less for hard core Wikimedians, but more for new WLM target groups.
I will give a better overview about the status next week.
Regards,
Elke
This would be a great tool in campaigning WLM! Please loop me in for updates!
Thanks!

I work on the WLM Mobile app. We're planning on supporting Android only initially. You can find mockups and details about the app at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wiki_Loves_Monuments_mobile_application.
And the entire app is in HTML/CSS/Javascript, so if you want to hack on it, you can fork it off at github.com/wikimedia/WLMMobile
thanks Yuvi!
