Hi Maarten,
As mentioned in the email thread about WLM marketing, the mobile banner has been ready. Is there any news in terms of putting it on the main pages of the languages you thought were appropriate?
Also, I wanted to remind country organizers that banners for the wikilovesmonuments country sites are available for use.
Everything is here:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wiki_Loves_Monuments_mobile_application/Market...
There is a Fact Sheet on Commons, which has numerous translations available from a link at the top:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2012/Mobile_...
Feel free to copy any translated version to your respective country site.
The version of the app on Google Play has been updated today and will be updated again tomorrow.
Please let me know if there any questions.
Thanks.
Phil
Why is there such a dark, dramatic, unfriendly thunderstorm on the banner? Makes me somewhat afraid.
Alex
Hi Alex,
I think it would be totally welcome if you design alternative banners. This is simply one that is available for use - if you make another one, please share on that page too. Thanks!

Hi All,
We have not had time to localize the text in the mobile banners. I am hoping the text is short enough that you could localize it at the time of inserting the banner.
The mobile banners are created in a way where the text can be easily replaced.
Regarding the larger banner for the country sites, the idea behind the thunderstorm was to provide a contrast with the existing layout style. If you think a different design is better, please describe your ideas and we will see if we can accommodate.
Unfortunately, the text in the large banner for the country sites is embedded in the graphic currently. So either you can send us the desired text in your language, and we will create a new graphic, or just tell us what the preferred design would be.
The sites using WordPress will not show the right column on a mobile screen, so it may be better to use the wider banner in the main column. But that is a slight preference, as the CentralNotice banners will be on the desktop and so the primary traffic will be on the desktop.
The simplest possible way to include the app in the country sites is to use the QR code graphic and underneath put a caption that says the equivalent of: "Download the free Wiki Loves Monuments Android App." The QR code has the benefit of initiating the app download on a user's phone.
Thanks.
Phil
