Hi,
I was just talking about it during WLM session on Wikimania. See the project made by our local, friendly competitors:
At the moment they collect monument data in a collaborative way.
First - you can search for the monument, then you can improve data - by better placing the monument on map, changing address to more up-to-date etc. See how easy it is for contributors in comparison with editing wiki-tables...
Their next step is to make a separate page about each monument where people will upload their pictures, write stories and descriptions of monuments...
Wow, super!
And could anybody help me with adding some Ukrainian lists to toolserver? Lists are ready.

Great project! They will be reaching people much better than us.
It would be cool if we did the same thing, but I think we would face a scope problem.

Why? Every monument is in principle notable since there are publications about it. We are just understaffed to create articles about several million monuments.
Cheers Yaroslav
Is it only open or also free? I see a CC-BY tag, is it for every part of the project? And will it actually be open data with dumps etc.?

Hi,
http://otwartezabytki.pl is like a simplified Facebook Places Editor project and run on the follwing rules: 1. You can download current DB of monuments: http://otwartezabytki.pl/strony/pobierz-dane (CC-0) 2. The source code is published on github: https://github.com/monterail/otwartezabytki

Thanks. Does the DB contain only the original data or also all the contributions requested to the users? Too bad for the code, I see it's not free. Is the data in the DB usable anyway?

It is written that it contains the current database with contributors input and history of all edits.
