Hello Roel, In 2011 each country decides for itself how many pictures are considered to be in the top ... of that specific country. Only the top 10 of those were nominated for the international contest. In 2011 we had with the contest in Belgium & Luxemburg 22 winning pictures. Only the top 10 of those were nominated for the international contest. It is possible that a country only chooses 3 winning pictures, they still should send in the best 10 pictures for the international contest. Wiki Loves Monuments: a start to get more countries/users/chapters involved

Hello all, February 18 is closing fast: the date we would like to know roughly which countries are organizing Wiki Loves Monuments in 2012, see: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2012/Timeli… I think it would be good if we make this project more known and easy to step in for users on projects, chapters and so on. I guess/hope the chapters have been emailed earlier about this, perhaps we should do again. Also I think we should post in each village pump on the many Wikipedia's a short message what the goals are, how to participate, etc. Wikimedians telling each other what WLM is about is good, but I think we can perhaps reach more people. Also should we already start on making participations more definite in Google Docs? It is only 15 days left until February 18, our rough timeline. Greetings - Romaine

Wiki Loves Monuments Philippines Launch

Hi, The Philippines would like to launch the project towards the end of March to coincide with the onset of the summer and travel season in the country. We have been made aware, that the infrastructure would not be ready until September, and thus from the launching date which is targeted to be March 24, until September we would be constantly promoting the competition, and just continuously update the participants on how to upload their entries once the infrastructure is ready.
