Chers wikimédiens, Nous sommes heureux d'annoncer la première édition de l'Africa Wiki Challenge, un concours d'écriture qui appelle tous les Africains, les personnes d'ascendance africaine, les personnes qui s'identifient au continent ou toute personne ayant un intérêt pour l'Afrique à contribuer du contenu sur les nombreuses choses qui constituent la véritable et riche identité du continent (ses cultures riches et colorées, son histoire, ses monuments, son éducation, ses villes, ses rivières, ses lacs, sa nourriture, sa végétation, etc.) du 23 mai au 30 juin 2021. [1] La campagne cherche à projeter des histoires de l'Afrique, projeter son identité et aider à réduire le déficit de contenu sur le continent sur le Web. [2] Chaque année, nous sélectionnons un thème pour guider les utilisateurs sur ce à quoi ils contribuent dans le cadre de la campagne. Cette année, nous avons choisi le thème « Monuments en Afrique» . [3] L'objectif est de documenter tous les points de repère qui couvrent les sites historiques, culturels, géographiques et les lieux d'importance clé pour un pays ou le continent. Ceux-ci incluent, mais sans s'y limiter; - Monuments - Statues, monuments commémoratifs, bâtiments historiques, sites archéologiques - Démarcations nationales - Districts, municipalités, métropoles, régions, États, etc. - Dotations géographiques - montagnes, vallées, forêts, chutes d'eau, faune, plage, etc. - Développements infrastructurels - routes, hôpitaux, églises, mosquées, écoles, rails, parcs aquatiques, hôtels, parcs à thème, etc. Les individus ou affiliés sont invités à participer ou à soutenir le projet. Vous pouvez participer au concours en écrivant de nouveaux articles ou en améliorant des articles existants. WMF GLAM & Culture office hours - Structured Data on Commons

Hi everyone! Next Monday and Tuesday, we have one more GLAM & Culture office hours by the WMF GLAM team. These ones will be about Structured Data on Commons. There will be a meeting on *Monday, 26 April, 3.30 pm - 4.30 pm UTC*, followed by another on *Tuesday, 27 April, 11.00 am - 12.00 pm UTC*. On the first day, Carly Bogen, the Foundation's Program Manager for Structured Data, will talk about the new Media Search, Image Recommendations, and provide updates on the Structured Data Across Wikimedia project. Jennie Choi, General Manager of Collection Information for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will also present her process of batch uploading Structured Data on Commons. On the second day, John Sampson Tiberius Cummings, Wikimedian in Residence at UNESCO, and Alicia Fagerving, Developer at Wikimedia Sverige (WMSE), will share Wikimedia Sweden's plans with Structured Data, GLAM content, and Wiki Loves Monuments. Makumbusho: Apps4Museums grant application to generate mobile apps for Museums based on Wiki content

Dear All, I have submitted this grant application for a project that aims to have a digital platform that allow the automatic generation of mobile applications for museums around the world based on the multilingual content available on the Wiki projects. Although the final purpose of this project is to have the mobile applications, the project aims also to increase the Wiki content related to museums as the more available content we have the more mobile application we can generate. This project will be a good motivation to initiate a new GLAM partnerships between local communities and their museums.
