Hi everyone,
A few months ago we at Wikimedia Sverige, together with GLAM partners,
submitted two project applications to the Swedish Innovation Agency
(Vinnova). Both projects focus on how Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons can
function as crowdsourcing platforms where GLAMs can collaborate with
volunteers - or citizen scientists if you will.
The project applications as such are of course "frozen", but we wanted to
get input from our friends in the GLAM-Wiki community on the ideas and
"content" of the projects as such. We should learn next week whether any of
the projects have been selected for funding.
So, to those who are interested, we've now translated the applications and
would appreciate your input! Feel free to share the link to the document to
those you think may be interested.

Hello everyone,
Our next biweekly LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group call is Tuesday, September 22nd at 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 16:00 UTC / 6pm CEST. This call aims to sketch a starting point for institutions to think through what is involved in coordinating a Wikidata project, including shared infrastructure, training, and documentation. We will begin with a review of existing documentation for librarians and Wikidata working hours (twice monthly). We will then hear from Alex Jung (University of Toronto Libraries) about the logistics of Wikidata project coordination at libraries, informed by experiences at Stanford University, Cornell University, Harvard University, and the University of Toronto.

The LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group is associated with the Linked Data for Libraries LD4 Community and investigates how libraries can contribute to and better integrate library metadata with Wikidata to improve access to library resources on the web. The Affinity Group calls provide an informal space to share information and learn more about Wikidata.
