Poor,-
How hard would it be to create a "soft ban"
on certain IP number ranges?
To thwart a troll, we may have occasion to block, say, all IP's from
142.177.0.0 to 142.177.255.255 -- to prevent someone like EofT from
posting anonymously to Wikipedia and thereby evade a hard ban.
If necessary, can be done using a small script, but I'm strongly opposed
to it. That's the IP of an entire large Canadian ISP with thousands of
customers. I also find it a bit problematic how easily it is assumed these
days that two users with somewhat similar IP numbers are the same person.
Let's try to establish strong standards of evidence here.
