Invitation to join July 2024 Wikisource Community meeting

Hello fellow Wikisource enthusiasts! We are hosting the next Wikisource Community meeting <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikisource_Community_meetings#July_2024_mee…> on 27th July 2024 at 3 PM UTC / 8:30 PM IST (Check your local time <https://zonestamp.toolforge.org/1722092400>). As always there will be space for both technical and non-technical discussions. Another topic for discussion is the future of hosting these community meetings as discussed last month. While many people showed interest, it would be good to have a consensus on one owner to begin with and others can pitch in as collaborators. If you are interested in joining the meeting, kindly leave a message on sgill(a)wikimedia.org and we will add you to the calendar invite. This global gathering of Wikisourcers - enthusiasts, contributors, and partners - promises to be a landmark event.This marks the first Wikisource Conference since Vienna in 2015! The 2025 gathering signifies a significant moment for the global Wikisource community. This year's theme, "Wikisource: Transform & Preserve Heritage Digitally" underscores the importance of inclusivity and collaboration in enriching Wikisource.The conference offers a unique opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, address challenges, strengthen local and multilingual communities, and champion open access.We're calling for passionate Wikimedians to join the following committees: - Program Team: Help shape the agenda and ensure a stimulating and engaging conference experience. - Scholarship Team: Oversee the scholarship program, making the conference accessible to a wider audience. - Communication Team: Develop a comprehensive communication strategy to promote the conference. Wikisource Conference 2025

Dear members, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of a schedule change for our upcoming conference. The new dates are *February 14-16, 2025*. Additionally, we intend to invite WMF staff to attend the event, and would like to identify the specific *roles and functions* that UG members believe are essential to attending our conference.
