I'm trying to realize how {{#property:}} works, and I'm confused. From my
tests, it only works inside pages linked with a wikidata element - and they
show the wikidata property for that wikidata element.
Only one page for project can be linked to to a wikidata element - so, a
ns0 wikisource "book" can be linked to a wikidata edition element, but
can't be linked, in the same time, with the related wikidata work element.
So, I can't use #property tag to get properties of work items, but only for
*edition* items.
It I want to retrieve propetries of a *work* wikidata element bu #property,
I've to create a specific wikisource page for the work, then to link it to
wikidata work element - then using #property inside it.
So far, the syntax to call a property of a wikidata element different from
the element linked to current page seems not work.
So, I opened two *work* pages into it.wikisource, [[:it:Wikisource:Tommaso
Moro (Pellico)]] and [[:it:Wikisource:Eufemio da Messina]], I linked them
to Q15987095 and Q15987085, and I'm doing some test using those pages. I
used nsWikisource just to avoid any possible mismatch between *works* and
*editions".

Wikidata property values are effectively retrieved by #property inclusion
syntax, but it work only when used into the wikisource page directly linked
to a wikidata element.
An effective management of a "book" (best, a literary work) needs creation
of two different elements ("work" and "edition"); ns0 wikisource pages can
be linked to "edition" wikidata element just as Author: pages are linked to
author's wikidata element; on the contrary, presently there's no wikisource
page that could be linked to "work" wikidata element, so the data of the
latter can't be retrieved into wikisource by #property inclusion syntax.
I'm testing a strange idea: to create wikisource "work" pages as subpages
of author's page. It seems a nonsense location, but it has a long series of
advantages and few disadvantages IMHO:
* omonimies decrease sharply;
* there's a logical and implicit link between author and his works;
* work pages can be very simply self-categorized as [[Category:Works by
{{BASEPAGENAME}}]]
* joining {{#property:...}} and {{subst:#property:...}} codes, such work
pages both show data and run as templates to access the data from any other
page.
* the code can be completely standardized and can be easily created/updated
by bot, simply posting the same base code into any work page, new or old.
Tests are going on working using
https://it.wikisource.org/wiki/Autore:Silvio_Pellico and its related
wikidata elements.

Dear all, here are some poorly translated suggestions from a friend who
tried the WS epub converter. He's a professional with epub and ebooks, so I
trust him :-)
The problem is that I'm not sure at all if I translated well,
as I don't understand what he says...

- there are imperfections in the css:
* ex. in the td padding:
padding: 0.2 em; the space between the value and the unity of measure can
create problems in some ebook readers;
* word-wrap:break-word; this is a CSS3 rule, I don't think it is used by
ePub2...
* I would add a margin at the border or the page with the @page, or it
could happen that the text goes directly to the border in the ebook
readers... (especially at the top);
* tables with <td style="width:100%"> have content that sometimes goes out
the screen;
* images (for ex. maps) are too small. 220 pixel on a 250dpi screen as the
Kobo one means less than a stamp.
I would go also with percentage measures to the screen dimensions, and not
absolute ones.
