[Sorry for using English, anyone wants a translation I am happy to provide one.]
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to give some prior notice that early in March myself, Maryana Pinchuk, and Victor Grigas from the Foundation will be Brazil for a few meetups. Maryana, Victor, and I will be in at least three cities (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Curitiba) and may be able to come to WikiNatal too.
This is all being discussed on the Esplanada ( https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Esplanada/geral/Wikip%C3%A9dia_...)) and there are individual meetup pages linked from there. Please sign up if you can make it, and thank you to those who have already done so. :-)
There is more detail in Portuguese at the link, but just to give a quick overview of why we're going...
We're traveling to hear from Portuguese Wikipedians about what editing the lusophone Wikipedia is like. We have a few questions, but otherwise no set agenda. While the jobs of Jessie, Barry, and the new National Program Director are largely to work with Wikimedia Brasil and the community on outreach in the country, Maryana and I have a focus on Wikimedia communities from all over, rather than outreach in any particular country. This Brazil trip is part of a series of conversations we're having with editors where we learn more about non-English Wikipedias. (Maryana and I are both English Wikipedians primarily.)
If you have any questions, let me know. I am happy to go into more detail.
