This WMF affiliates finance fellows report is pretty interesting and I really do appreciate that this research was done. Hopefully I'll have time to review it in more detail in the next couple of weeks.

I don't think WMF has an appreciation of the scope of this problem and how it detracts from the prigrammatic activities that they aim to support in addition to its effects on volunteer morale and motivation (which is a WMF global metric). I am hoping that some hard numbers might get them to think about the status quo and how to improve it by a significant, measurable percentage.
