Umm, if civilization ends, we won't be around to see it, and the Wikimedia Foundation mission will have been fulfilled ("every single human being can freely share in the sum of all knowledge").
No one is seriously suggesting using WMF funds for this nonsense, are they?
Certainly not large amounts of funds any time soon. If it could be done for $5k, I'd recommend doing it with WMF funds. I might also recommend doing it with WMF funds in 20 years when we have a massive endowment paying all our running costs and get billions of dollars donated a year. But right now we cannot justify the expense that would almost certainly be required.
