The history page includes an author list. It's not on the "title page", admittedly, but that's a pretty minor distinction. I'm no lawyer, but I'd say any violations of the GFDL on Wikipedia are de minimis.
Quite apart from the "We're the biggest single pile of GFDL content available and that's how we've done it for years with no problems. Lots of mirror sites too with no problems." In the very first litigation ever on a given manner, US judges do take note of common practice.
