I have to suspect strongly: Luna = Prodego = Essjay = "Ryan Jordan" = other many admin's sockpuppet's accounts = inappropriate admin's accounts group abusing sockpuppets and amin's power = Chinese and/or Korean group with anti-Japanese racism and facism Why can't they allow IP address contributers to read "Unblock-en-l"? Yes, but that's because they have money rolling in to fund the physical and legal move. And I'm sure there's different things involved with a charity and what essentially is a small business. It wouldn't be smart to burn money like that, right after the world hears "Wikipedia to close in three months". Wikimania, Wikimedia's annual global conference for the community, has today released its call for participation. http://wikimania2007.wikimedia.org/wiki/Call_for_Particpation We will shortly be accepting submissions for presentations, panels, discussions, posters, and more. I would like to encourage all community members to make a submission. Wikimania is the wiki conference aimed at the Wikimedia community, so it's essential that you are represented here. If there is something interesting about your wiki that you want to share with 400 Wikimedians in Taipei this summer, please respond to this call for participation. We are also looking for volunteers to review the submissions made and help us to choose what will be presented at Wikimania. I moved to St. Pete because the office is there. I was hesitant--the very idea of moving out of a big city (New York) to a medium sized city in Florida was somewhat daunting. Let me tell you--I love it. I have made a few close friendships, and I feel that I am a part of the town (a euphemism for "the various local bartenders know me by name"). In a formal, office sense, we are a small organization, and will be so for the foreseeable future. In a town like St. Pete, we are a fixture. We stand out. We are the big kids on the block. I've recently been talking to a local college that wants to organize a group of volunteers to help us in so many of the tasks that need help. I don't know that we would get that kind of support in a big city, with so many groups competing for that help. And I believe we've only scratched the surface of how the local town can help us. Besides, it is nice to know that Jimmy and Michael are right around the corner and will be popping in to help as needed. All I miss is the snow.
