This is just to remind delegates that there will be the following social events WITH FOOD AND DRINK as follows here at Wikimania '14 in London: Friday Aug 7th 6-7 p.m. Lower Foyer -1 - Opening Reception -Lots of Food and Drinks provided!! Saturday Aug 9th 6-7 p.m. - Lower Foye -1 - Conference Reception - Lots of Food and Drinks provided!!!! Sunday Aug 10th 6-7 p.m. Closing Party begins with drinks and hor d'oeuvres. Bon apetit! Ellie

Oh dear!!! I got the date right and the day wrong. But yes food and drink tonight. THURSDAY Aug 7th should be the correct evening for the opening reception. There are no receptions on Friday. Dear all, Unfortunately, high temperatures are expected to return today with a forecast high of 26 degrees and probably still no rain. But we have better news for the weekend with heavy rain promised for Saturday, so you are likely to get a chance to use your umbrellas and other London type gear. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2643743 Most Wikimanians will be spending most of the day indoors, except of course for smokers. Ive just ordered a stack (30) of UK sim cards for Wikimania. This is a mix of dual normal/micro sims, and also some nano sims.. Theyre with giffgaff [1], and come with 5 GBP credit. If you get a £10 goodybag [2], it comes with 1GB mobile data and uk minutes/texts. Can get 4G on it too. Hello everyone, last year Wikimedia Deutschland cooperated with Beuth University of Applied Science concerning diversity in Wikipedia. Now we published the key conclusions and recommendation and translate the report into English, so that you and other interested people can also take a closer look on our work concerning diversity and maybe getting input for your own work. The English title is “Charting Diversity - Working together towards diversity in Wikipedia” and starts off with a review of the current situation in (the German) Wikipedia and then goes on to offer different concepts and possibilities how to improve diversity in Wikipedia. Dear Wikimanians, People have asked about the Wikimedia UK branded sweet in the delegate bags. It is a traditional British delicacy called rock <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_%28confectionery%29>. One of our vegetarians has checked and it does not contain either gelatine or cochineal or anything else that would make it unacceptable to vegetarians or indeed vegans.
