I believe a/the bot automatically puts the pictures per city which are now in http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Rijksmonumenten unless there's no ID present. Mvg, Bas

Hi Yaroslav,
I think that expanding the image tree makes a lot of sense. However, perhaps it makes more sense to expand from Buildings in Middelburg - then to streets
- then to houses. It would make more sense to me to have a category
"Buildings in Middelburg", "Buildings in Lange Noordstraat, Middelburg"
and
then "Lange Noordstraat 23, Middelburg". In very big cities, you might
want
to add a layer of city-areas (in Amsterdam for example).
However, I don't know what would be a useful threshold to create a
category
(both for streets and per building) - perhaps a more experienced Commons user can make a useful suggestion to that. My gut feeling would be that
we
would only create categories for five or more images, but I can be wrong there.

I perfectly agree with everything you write, and five images was also my personal suggestion for the threshold (I believe some exceptions can be make for somehow famous buildings). Right now we have most of the images sitting just in general categories "RM in the Netherlands" or at best "RM in city X". There is a lot of work ahead of us to categorize them also along usual lines like towns -> streets -> buildings.
Cheers Yaroslav
