Romaine, There are lots and lots of cadastre numbers on some of those! The address is also not always obvious (no street signs or house numbers) to the person taking photo's.
This looks like handwork: for the larger, important items, perhaps the common name of the object combined with a code for the municipality name can be in the identifier like XX Church of St. Steven, XX City Hall, XX Guild hall, or something like that; and for the less obvious monuments, the cadastre number or the coordinates. If there are smaller, private residences, maybe just the description? Jane

On the source list it seems that all monuments are identified by its cadastre number and probably it is unique.

Hello all,
In the country Luxembourg we have monuments, but so far we know these
monuments have no unique identifier. It seems an important aspect of the monument lists in other countries (Belgium, Netherlands, etc) that the photo's have an identifier so that they are easily matched with the monument lists. As we know nothing about unique identifiers, how do who solve that situation?
- Should we leave the monuments without unique identifier?
- Should we create our own unique identifier? Like one based on for
example the community with us giving a number to a monument in the order of when a monument got listed?
- Anyone a idea?
Do all monuments have an adress? Can postalcode+streetnumber be unique
enough
perhaps (like in NL).
