I think, we'll be able to share cool stories afterwards, because now I can think more about blood, sweat and tears :)
Quick facts.
WLM UA has separate prize for the biggest number of pictured monuments by a participant. And those monuments that did not have photos on Commons before this contest count as three. As a result we have several partisipants who spend their vacations on the go to see more places and take more photos for WLM, two, three years in a row. I see a dedication.
We have a tradition to have last year winners in this year contest jury. This way, I hope, participants are more motivated, since winning seems less hopeless :)
Was this interesting?
These are both interesting. Thanks for sharing them. We had a prep session a few hours ago where Stephen reminded us of something you told us earlier (I'm paraphrasing, perhaps heavily): that in Ukraine running Wiki Loves Monuments is a family event. You are creating an environment where people think of Wiki Loves Monuments not as a one time event, but as something that they can come to later and connect with again and again. This is very beautiful (and interesting;)! :)
btw, if you ever want to write in more details about how you run the contest in Ukraine and especially the human and community side behind it, please write a blog post. If your resources are limited, we're happy to work with you and help you write one. We should talk about these aspects more, and share them more broadly! :)
Best, Lily

hey all,
tonight (tomorrow morning for me - yawn!), we'll be joining a special episode of Wikipedia Weekly!
It is always nice to share a bit about what you're doing in your country, and for the conversation it would be nice to tap into some of those stories. I know a bunch because of talking with a lot of you - but I would definitely appreciate a bit more sharing.
This is extremely short notice (about 7-8 hours to go), but if you have cool stories about your country, what kind of stuff you're doing, how you're reaching out to new users, how you're targeting the most important monuments to you, or how you're trying to do the impossible - please share!
I can't promise we work it into the conversation - but either way you'll bring a smile on my face. And I can promise you that such a smile is always welcome at 04:00 in the morning :) Thanks in advance!
Looking forward to them,
Lodewijk
