I asked about it a couple of times without getting the instructions.
We have now the pdf, which is a great, but it's not clear where to get the country ID. Or maybe I'm just dumb, in which case please point me to the appropiate paragraph of the fine manual. The pdf says:
Replace YOURID with the Piwik ID for your country. Get the ID for your country at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2012/FAQ#Can_...
That FAQ entry says:
Find the IDs for your country in the progress table.
But I see no "country ids" or "piwik ids" in the linked page http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2012/Progress Not even hidden in the page source.
BTW, the code given in the instructions use http://stats.wikilovesmonuments.org/ when the page is accessed through http and https://stats.wikilovesmonuments.org/ if the page was accessed through https. Which is good, as it avoids problems of "including insecure content". But https://stats.wikilovesmonuments.org/ doesn't work (there isn't even a server running in that port). Probably not very important, given that no country has a good https version, though. (cf. Local websites, missing urls and vulnerable versions thread)
I'm curious the results given by piwik. Most of the additional data points, such as plugin support, won't be much useful. The real data will come from processing the cookies that might be resent. Are visits aggregated accross websites? (ie. a user which visited multiples country sites)
Also, how would European regulation affect us by the addition of third-party cookies by stats.wikilovesmonuments.org?
