Hi Ilario,
are you talking about lists in the database, or about lists in Wikipedias?
In the first case, please disregard my response. I know nothing about the database. Maarten must know it.
If we are talking about Wikipedias, I was not the creator of the English lists, but I seem to be the person who produced most edits to them since the Spring.
Concerning the names, I do not think English Wikipedia will accept untranslated lists. I guess if I now start replace English names with German, French, and Italian names, this can be considered as vandalism. A way out could be to have two columns - for an English name and for an original name. Actually, as I was going through the lists, I added some translations (mostly from French, since German and Italian were already done).
The rest I do not really understand. I went through the documents which were posted here and compared them with the lists (this was needed in order to find the monument IDs). I discovered that in many cases a monument is placed in the documents twice under different IDs, and several are even places multiple times. In these cases, I added all the IDs to the lists, they are still there.
If I can do smth to help please let me know. I have all Swiss lists on English Wikipedia on my watchlist.
Cheers Yaroslav

Dear all, I am standardizing the list of Switzerland monuments and I have seen that they are big differences in several languages.
I dont know if there are persons working on the Swiss lists who are subscribed in this mailing list.
Mainly there are the lists in English, German, French, Italian (Rumantsch is missed).
It seems to me really hard to manage them also to integrate in the database and in the tools.
Mainly the most complete list is that in English but in the tools there are only the German monuments and the management seems to be a real challenge.
As the contest is country based, I would suggest to use the same template for the whole Switzerland and in this case the English one can be promoted because it is very similar to the Italian and to the German (only with a small modification), but not with the French one, but the French list is also the lesser complete.
In addition I would suggest to *dont translate* the items but to use the identification used by the Swiss Inventory of Cultural Property of National. In their publication there are no translations.
They use the name in Italian for Swiss Italian monuments, those in German for Swiss German monuments and in French and in Rumantsch.
This may help to identify the monuments (the local road markings in Switzerland are not translated) and to avoid ridicoulous translations (in English I have found "rovine" which means "ruins" as address of a monument or the address as name of the monument).
Wikipedia doesnt accept original works, the translation of these monuments is in my opinion an original work. If there is an official translation we may use it, if there is not, I suggest to keep the original one.
Take as example the "official" list of Grischun made in three languages, this list use the official denomination depending on the local language, so they use Rumantsch Grischun, Italian and German:
