Instagram and Creative Commons

Dear all, a doubt: is Instagram compatible with Creative Commons? Can I upload *my* Instagram pics on Commons (so could it be used for WLM)? Please consider that I'm not suggesting Instagram pics are good for WLM (they are filtered and all, probably not very suitable for illustrating monuments on Wikipedia) but is a legal matter. Aubrey

Question about manual tagging of photos

Hello I need clarification about adding manual tags. As I understand it, if a monument is recognised as an official monument in my country, but we don't have the latest updates in our lists, then the user can add a tag manually. Is this correct? A user has already done this for this photo and wants to know if this is correct: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Kvæsthusgraven_København_2019_08_04… Can someone confirm that this looks OK? I assume that manual tagging means you upload a photo to Commons like you normally would do. Then you go back in and add a tag. [WLM announce] Notification to WLM uploaders without e-mail enabled

Hi all, A belated e-mail to announce a feature that has been running for a week or so. Every three minutes, ErfgoedBot retrieves the list of users who uploaded, in the last few minutes, pictures marked as participating to WLM. If an uploader has not enabled e-mail, the bot leaves a message on their talk page explaining that it is necessary to win a prize (unless it has already notified that user). You can help translating the message in more languages at: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:WLM-enable-email/i18n https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:WLM-enable-email/heading/i18n We hope that this will help to avoid situations of winning pictures with no email enabled, only detected much later when the uploader is not around anymore. Dear national coordinators, jury coordinators, Thank you for the amazing work done in the past weeks and months in organizing wiki loves Monuments 2019. As you know, the international Wiki Loves Monuments competition is based on a federalized model: there's a national competition in each country, with a national organizing team, a national jury and national winners. The national jury determines up to (maximum) 10 images that will be submitted to the international finale. These ten images should be submitted via email to the international jury coordinator before the deadline: erinamukuta(a)gmail.com. Unless you have agreed a different deadline with Lily (in cc), this deadline is 31 October, 23:59 UTC. Your encouraged to send them at least a few days before that time. Submissions after this deadline are not guaranteed to be included in the finale. When submitting your finalists, please take these instructions into account: * Submit no more than ten images per (national) competition. It is OK to submit less images, for example if you don't find enough images of high quality. * Submit the images to: erinamukuta(a)gmail.com , and include in the CC at least one (additional) jury member besides yourself. Please also include lilyofthewest.wikimedia(a)gmail.com in the cc. * If the results are still not public (if you plan to announce them later publicly), please add the planned announcement date. Please note that we will announce the international winners in December, and will not wait for national announcements. * Submit for each image: URL, File name on Wikimedia Commons and Author username * Check basic information about the images. Then, the jurors will have the opportunity to remove images from the selection, which they consider unfit. Finally, they are asked to rank their top-25 images, and share their reasoning. We will create a jury report based on this information. UNESCO promoting WLM and translating the participate page

Hi all Just a note to say I can ask UNESCO again to promote WLM, however I got some pushback last year because the page to find your country is only available in English. <goog_921670993> https://www.wikilovesmonuments.org/participate/ It would make it much much more likely I can convince them again to promote it if this page could be available in French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese and Russian also. Help us improve a framework for supporting content campaigns!

Hello everyone, Apologies for cross-posting, and please forward to communities who you think will be interested. In light of the movement’s increased focus on diversity and becoming essential infrastructure for diverse human knowledge, the Community Programs team at the WMF has begun investigating the use of content campaigns in the movement. Campaigns are some of the most reliable ways to create new content and introduce new contributors to the movement, but we have a lot of questions like: What are the different steps that our community organizers have to go through in order to organize campaigns and contests such as Wiki Loves Monuments, Wikipedia Asian Month, #1lib1ref Wikidata Menu Challenge etc.? What are the tools that are being used in organizing these campaigns and contests such as PetScan, Listeria, CitationHunt, Fountain, wscontest tool, Outreach Dashboard etc.? ?Listeria issue

Hi,. I am adding the data of KMC heritage buildings in Wikidata, which is displayed as a list in Commons through Listeria. But while fetching p670 qualifier, it is showing ''Array'' in stead of the actual value. Kolkata photowalk this Sunday

Hi, The Kolkata community is organizing the 9th session of Wiki Takes Kolkata to photo-document the monuments of Sovabazar and Pathuriaghat area of Kolkata on 22 September, 2019. This year, the community is organizing the walk to upload the photographs for Wiki Loves Monuments.
