Hi all,
quick information from Montage dev team :). We are still improving
application and deploying new version usually every few days. Last version
was was released yesterday, you can find list of all changes here[1].
Please note we are open for feedback and we really appreciate all the
comments. Right now we have long list of things we are about to work on[2].
If you are coordinator please ask your jurors what is wrong or missing in
Montage. Special kudos here to Michael Maggs for very valuable feedback :).

Thanks Ganesh,
There's also a conversation going on here, that you may want to look at:

Thanks all for making the lists move! One less concern, and people can now
also more easily find information about Nepal's heritage.

Hi all,
As of 2017-10-01 almost all Wiki Loves Monuments 2017 campaigns are
closed. Now is a good time to give an update about the Flickr
collaboration. Some of you as organizers of countries with photos
submitted through Flickr collaboration have been contacted already by
us, this is a more detailed email to give more general information
about this collaborations.
I'd like to start by saying that we found the collaboration with
Flickr in 2017 something very valuable that we would like to learn
more from, continue, and improve on in the following years. Our
friends in Flickr spent a lot of time and love on this collaboration,
and this was great to watch. We are also grateful to all of the Flickr
users who stepped up to organize a photowalk in their city and to
those of you who created connections between your photowalks and
theirs.
Here is some more to share:
* All cities that organized a photowalk to be surfaced on Flickr are
listed at https://www.flickr.com/groups/2581696@N23/discuss/72157684767493213/7215768…
* The rules of the contest were communicated with Flickr users at
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2017/Photow…
and the organizers of the campaign on Flickr end worked with their
community closely to answer any question that came up during the month
of September.
* In the month of September, in total 1482 photos got uploaded to the
corresponding Flickr group. From this count, 12% of the photos has the
correct license [1], a hard requirement for us to be able to move the
photos to Wikimedia Commons and help them participate in the contest.
The percentage of those with the correct license that had appropriate
monument and country ID was significantly less. (Some of them we have
not found a home for, yet.[2])
* Our friends at Flickr worked hard to communicate with those who
uploaded the photos that the licenses of the photos should match
certain license requirements. It is not clear to us at this point why
more photographers didn't decide to switch their licenses. There can
be many reasons for this and we want to learn more about them. (We are
looking forward to work with the Flickr team to collect some
information about this.)
* We want to understand if there are ways we can help more Flickr
photographers join such an initiative in the future. We need to
understand what the blockers were. We have our own guesses, but again,
we're looking forward to work with the Flickr team and those of you
who were more involved with this initiate this year to learn more.
It was great for us to have the opportunity to work with the Flickr
community in 2017 and we look forward to repeating this in the future
years.
And as always: comments and questions are welcome.
Best,
Lily

Hi,
We have 2 jurors who reported that the tool shows only a small set of
photo's and then repeats this set. 1 juror got stuck at 65%, the other at
15,2%.
They both tried logging out and start over, but the problem still exists.
Can you advise?
Kind regards,

For the time being, I moved about half of them, I expect to be done over
the weekend. I think the obvious next step is to reorganize them in terms
of the new administrative division if possible. Also, I think there is some
mess in the pages over the Kathmandu, but I will move them last and make
one more effort to understand what is related to what.

Hi all,
Here is more information for those of you who have signed up to use
Montage for your jury process this year. [1]
The developers of Montage (cc-ed) have been working hard in the past
months on the latest release of Montage which will, among other
things, bring some of the features and functionalities you told us
about last year. [2] We are excited to bring these improvements to
you, and here is the timelines for it [2]:
* 2017-09-30 around 21:00 UTC: I will start creating campaigns for
each country that has signed up in [1].
* 2017-10-01 around 21:00 UTC: We will share the link to where the new
montage version will live with you. Your jury coordinator (listed in
[1]) can create round 1 of your jury process then.
* 2017-10-02 around 21:00 UTC: your jury can start the jury process.
Any issue in [3] tagged with "high priority" will be ready by
2017-10-01, 21:00 UTC. These are features that you need in place to
create your round 1. Issues tagged with "normal priority" will be done
starting 2017-10-02. These are features that are either not critical
in the early days of your jury process or we know that are relevant
only when you get to the final ranking round.
While you are waiting the new version of Montage to become available:
please make sure you have your jury ready and also make sure you have
read https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikilovesmonuments/2017-September/008…
Questions and comments are welcome.
Best,
Lily
[1] If you haven't signed up and you want to use Montage, please sign
your country up at
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons_talk:Montage as soon as
possible.
[2] We may be able to meet the deadlines earlier than the times
specified here, but we can't promise that. If we have things ready
earlier, we will shift deadlines for you to start earlier.
[3] Such features and functionalities (in Github language: issues) are
listed at https://github.com/hatnote/montage/issues

Sorry but we (in the Norwegian jury) have problem with montage. We have 384 images but when we used montage we only saw 240 images.

Hi all,
For those of you who had already signed up to start the jury process
in Montage, your campaigns are ready. Please read the instructions at
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Montage#Instructions_for_coordin…
and follow the steps.
We expect to do more front-end development in the tool in the coming
week and you may notice some changes as you and your jury work with
the tool. We will do our best to do only positive changes and minimize
disruptions. :)
Best,
Lily
