Hi everyone,
We (WLM Malta) are trying to develop some sort of promotional poster to
promote WLM through social media, but since we don't have a designer as
part of our team we are struggling slightly with the visual design - is
there anybody who would be willing to share any posters they may have used,
or perhaps some sort of editable template that we could potentially build
upon?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi all!
yesterday I was in a meeting with a representant from Culture Ministry
in his office. We talked about the possible participation of this
Ministry through Qhapac Ñan Project Office in WLMPerú2016 and we have a
many signals to think this will be materialized this year. I have a hope
about this.
They showed me an official map for material heritage in Perú [1],
specially arqueological, monuments and areas. They say we can use this
information to wlmPeru2016.
After export this data [2], and with a first look, some monuments dont
have geo code to located it. So, I ask to OpenStreetMap community here
to comparate data bases and look it for geodata missed. I think there
are so many monuments that not be in these lists.
I asked them to participate as jury with a member and they suggest a
Professional Photographer from Ministry who has made many pictures for
their projects. In this point I suggest a looking for a some way to
release some (or all) pictures from their data base. Maybe some of you
have an experience in this task? I mean, in a data release from
gubernamental office to wikipedia? I would like to propose them a simple
way to do it and share with they some arguments to do this in a public
way that inspire some others offices. I'm looking for a meeting with
Education Ministry ...
So, we have a direct way to coordinate his participation in wlmPeru2016
and they are waiting for some feedback from us to do it.
Next week we have another meeting, we hope arrive it with many questions
and proposals.
This is all for this moment.

Hi all,
We want to make/update some instruction materials for WLM in Israel and the
most important factor here is how to upload images for WLM.
Unfortunately the campaign is off so we can't do this. My UploadCampaign
permissions were just revoked this year :/
Did anyone else make such instruction materials, and what would be the best
way to take screenshots of the upload campaign / temporarily enable it?

Dear all,
I am saqib from Wikimedia Pakistan.
We in Pakistan would like to broaden the scope of this years WLM Pakistan and would accept both tangible and intangible cultural heritage photos. For the purpose, we would need to run the contest for at-least 2 months starting this week.
Can we run the contest for 2 months?

Hello Ilya
I have been working to install a local test instance of wlxjury. I more or
less configured it (not all things are clear, and for greater confusion,
there are two different configuration files: application.ini
and application.conf), but it failed with an OutOfMemoryError at the first
request (see log below). Any idea?
Regarding the configuration, what is the commons.user for?
Should the database be initialised in any way, or does it do it
automatically?

Hi all,
Here is an update on the WLM international team's efforts around the jury
tool in the past 6 days since my last update:
* We went over a demo of the majority of the jury tools currently listed at
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Jury_tools. (Thanks to all the
developers who made this happen. :) )
* We created a list of technical and UX requirements the jury tool the
international team supports should meet. You can find an overview of why we
needed to create a list of requirements and the actual list at
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Jury_tools/WLM
_jury_tool_requirements.
In the next few days we will be focusing on evaluating the six jury tools
against the above list of requirements. This assessment will help us make a
decision about which tool we should create a team around and support.
Our goal is for us to be able to share an update with you in the next 7
days.
If you have any questions or comments, please let us know.
Best,
Leila, on behalf of the WLM international team

We had very bad experience with using the WLX jury tool this year. I
described it at length here:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons_talk:WLX_Jury_Tool
Several possible solutions are also mentioned on that page. I would like
to hear your opinion about this situation. Could anyone help Ilya with
developing and maintaining the jury tool, and make sure that it works at
it should work?
If we are planning to meet a very sharp deadline of October 25 for WLM
photos, the jury tool should work absolutely smoothly, and user support
has to be very prompt. Or it would be good to know already now that we
can't rely on the jury tool, and alternative solutions should be
searched for.
Sincerely,
Alexander
Hi all,
There have been quite a few tools developed for WLM in the past years, and
I'm guessing some of us are working on creating more. :) It would be great
if we can gather a list of all tools, along perhaps with a short
description of what they do, in Tools for WLM 2016
<https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2016/Tools>.
As
an inspiration, we can use the Tool's page from WLM 2013
<https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2013/Tools>
.
Having an overview of all the tools available will help the organizers
learn about and find different tools more easily. It will also create an
opportunity for more collaboration in tool development and reducing the
chances of parallel creation of tools that address very similar questions.
Best,
Leila, on behalf of the WLM international team
