Hi everyone,
Now is the time to work on lists, but it is also the time to recruit
volunteers to help you out. To help recruit people, we really need to
revisit the places where we explain what WLM is and where volunteers
can sign up. The portal pages per country are here:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2013/Partici…
I just created the WLM 2013 page for the Netherlands on Commons and
also just updated the English Wikipedia page for WLM here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki_Loves_Monuments
This page should be in all participating Wikipedias - since WLM won
the Guiness Book of World records, it's notable enough for a Wikipedia
page.
I can only see it in 15 languages now, so if your Wikipedia project
doesn't have one, please consider translating the main lead and
linking to your local WLM website.

Dear all,
Israel will participate for the second time in Wiki Loves Monuments Competition.
Due to the holiday period (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Holy_Days), as was last year, we would need to postpone the begining of the competition in Israel, and as last year we would need to begin the competition on 15th September 00:01 local time and end it a month later on 15th October at 23:59 local time.
Best regards,
Deror

Hi,
My name is Federico [0] and I want to organize the event at least in
Montevideo, Uruguay. We saw the initiative with some friends a couple of
months ago and decided that it will be a great idea if we can participate.
We manage a flickr group [1] that encourages local people to go out and
take photograps, we travel around the country and organize photography
events.
I read the timeline [2] and I'm aware that we should have started earlier,
anyway I decided to give it a try.
I don't know if I should wait for someone to confirm, so let me know.
Thanks,
Federico

Dear Mrs. Wiki Loves Monuments,
The working group of Wikimedia in Colombia wants to participate this year
in the international contest Wiki Loves Monuments 2013. We became part the
last year with 6185 potos.
Currently we are working on the organization of the local contest.
Sincerely,
Frank Ballesteros [[User:Baiji]]
Member of Wikimedia Colombia working group
Dear all,
I am checking and collecting some data of WLM 2012 and I have found some
strange behavior.
Take this example:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Dr3izehn
and this photo:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Schloss_ChillonIMG_1668.jpg
Even if the user uploaded photos only during WLM's contest, only 2
photos have been included in the contest because only 2 of them have the
template of WLM.
This is one case of some others of "inexperienced people" who used the
normal "uploadwizard" instead of the "uploadwizard" of WLM, even if the
WLM CH website addressed them to the correct uploadwizard.
Regards

Hi all
For the very first time, the UK will be competing in the annual Wiki Loves Monuments competition in September. For the UK, this will be a community-led effort, with support from WMUK. A number of volunteers have already expressed interest in helping to organize the contest, but there is much to be done and many more volunteers are needed, both now and over the coming few months.
If you would like to contribute towards making our first ever competition the great success we expect it to be, please visit
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2013_in_the_…
and leave your name there. Even if you are only able to offer us moral support, or want to take part as photographer in September, please leave your details anyway. You need not be based in the UK to help.
